[V4MD] Stopping character remapping

One question: how?

I have some carefully encoded text stored in ASCII that needs to stay
exactly as inserted, but I'm finding it gets remapped across platforms. How
can I stop it happening? I have removed Director's font map, so it can only
be Valentina that's doing it.
