Yes.

I think that probably in 2.0 V4RB should use all new features that LATEST RB
introduce.

So V4RB 1.x will left for older version of RB.
And V4RB 2.0 must be as modern as possible.

But I was sure that RB 5 already have exceptions, no?
Only in RB 5.5 ?
