INTERNET DB / Valentina & Shockwave

I am making an offer for a customer who wants to use V4MD and Vserver inside
an intranet. But later on he would like the DB in the Internet.

So I have a few questions:
Can I connect via Internet to the Vserver as long as I now the IP, password
etc? Without modifications?

The customer would also like to use a browser as User Interface in the
future, so I am thinking about making it in Shockwave. What about Valentina
Xtra and Shockwave?
I can not use PHP because then I would need to install PHP on the server
while the DB is intranet only. The customer does not want this.
