There is a function / property "trim whitespace" in Director.
You can use "member("foo").image.trimWhitespace()" to trim
the whitespace off the "image" (here we go again :-) of a member,
or simply set the property for a bitmap castmember in
the property inspektor in Director.

Yes, yes, yes, it's still there and it's very annoying, all
32-bit images seems to have that problem when getting inserted
into a picture field. Changing the "trimwhitespace" option does not
change anything, though. Neither does changing the compression
quality of the castmember.
