[VApp] How do I import a picture?

Searching the archive on the  keywords "applescript picture filemaker" 
finds a few posts, the path seems to have been
bring pictures in using RB, shift to filemaker, use applescript to 
later move from filemaker to VAPP

It doesn't work as a picture field rather than a blob. I suspect it 
would need extra header information generated.
