Hi Jonathan,
1) you must store STYLE of text into SECOND Binary field:
String[40] - FixedBinary[40]
VarChar[200] -- VarBinary[200]
So the string field contains simple text, and bold style will not break for
your text search.

2) Valentina do not work with Unicode yet.
