This is the problem, I am asking about.. I used the
cursor and still got different results.

In addition, if I have only one record in the db and
use an AVG or SUM or COUNT, nothing gets return. For
instance, I have

SELECT name, SUM(val) FROM A WHERE name = 'foo' GROUP
BY NAME

Lets say
the sql "SELECT * FROM A WHERE name = 'foo'" returns
one record. Using the aggregate statement above,
however, return nothing.

Any ideas?
