[this offering didn't seem to get through first time I sent it so here 
it is again]

I've found "SQL Weekend Crash Course" [ISBN 0-7645-4901-4], Allen G 
Taylor, pub. Hungry Minds very useful, same author has also written 
"SQL For Dummies". I hate the "For Dummies" titling but the books are 
often bloody good.
