V4MD - Running director through a samba share, connecting to valentina DB

Hi Everyone,

I thought I'd try here before spending too much time running around to find
a solution.
I've got my director code on a linux server running Samba. Through windows
everything works 100%. Now when I try run the same code through macOS X, I
am getting an error -61. I'm not using the valentina client/server just the
valentina xtra.

The path is correct, I've checked that. When I copy the files to the mac
desktop it runs without a problem, it just seems it can't connect through :
"DIRECTOR:ILS:source:db:english:english.vdb"
But when running through the desktop I don't have any problems. Am I going
to have to focus my development on the server? If so what are the licensing
issues, if we purchase the server license can we distribute the server with
our stand alone package? We sell software into schools and so we have a
number of different setups around, so I want to make sure everything is
working across the board. If vserver will be distributable then I'd much
rather go that way, but if we have to pay alot of $'s for every stand alone
installation then it will get a bit much.
If we have to use the Vserver in some circumstances and V4MD in others then
that's not the end of the world, I'd just like some professional opinions
before going down the wrong road. Thanks All,

Deane Venske
