Subject: Getting specific record number

It's late and my brain is slowly turning to mush but I cannot figure
this
out...

I am using Val for Director and I have a cursor with about 100 records.
I
need to find the record position (and go there) of a record where a
field
equals a specific value. For instance, I need to go to the record that
has a
field name "shirt_style" that contains "polo." From there, the user can
click a next or back button to step through the other records.

I can do this with a repeat loop to look at each "shirt_style" field
until I
get to the one I want but I thought there might be an easier way to get
this
information.

Am I missing something really obvious?

Thanks.
