[VXMCD] beginner questions

Just getting started with Valentina VXMCD (using Metacard)...

Some questions:
1) init cachesize.  If I'm intending to store and retrieve a lot of 
images (and some small movies)  from the database, I presume setting 
this to a reasonable size (1? 2? Mb)  make sense.  I will be doing some 
binary read/write operations to BLOBs which may involve up to 1/2 MB of 
data at a time.

2) Debugging.  The documentation mentions using DCon to capture 
Valentina debug messages. This appears to be an old OS9 debugging 
console.  What's the recommended solution when developing under OSX?  
(Or do messages get directed to the OSX console?)
