It was raised a couple of weeks ago but was never solved, other than using
BLOB instead of Picture. This doesn't work for me since changing to BLOB
makes my original 571 MB database (which needs to fit on a CD) well beyond 1
GB.

I think I can solve my particular problem by adding a thin, light gray
border around the photos but that entails running over 2000 photos through
DeBabelizer and then re-importing them back into the database.

Annoying!
