Hi Ruslan,
I am really starting to suspect the Client Plugin and how it operates in the IDE.
Strangely, last night I managed to get it to work with the sample program as well as my own projects as I pointed out.
This morning, I came into work and tried the same thing....back to no logging and error 9....the usual failures.
The only thing that changed was my network config on my PowerBook G4 (home network to work network....both networks assigning different Addresses via DHCP).
I have just done some further tests.
1). Ran my project in the ID on my PB G4 at work : Result = FAILED (tried 127.0.0.1 and the DHCP assigned IP address)
2). Compiled my project on my PB G$ and ran it : RESULT = PASSED (compiled as 127.0.0.1)
3). Again, Ran my project in the ID on my PB G4 at work : Result = FAILED (tried 127.0.0.1 and the DHCP assigned IP address)
4). Copied my complete RB 4.5.3 environment to an external FireWire drive along with my project that is failing. Attached this drive to a PM G4 and ran the code in the IDE (client code had the IP address of my PowerBook G4 with the server running on it) : Result = PASSED
Note that for all of the above tests I was using the latest alpha 6 of teh server and kept it running for all 4 tests.
This is really starting to tell me that the networking portion in the client plug-in is performing strangely and it does seem to be related somewhat randomly to testing in the IDE.
For reference I am testing using Mac OS X 10.2.5 (also tested remotely from Mac OS X Server 10.2.5)...both machines had developer tools installed.
Hope this is useful.
regards
Mike
