Loading a DateTime Field via UPDATE,,,

Hello.

When using a TEXT value to load DateTime field, is there always a 
specific order that the fields should go?  Or is it LOCALE specific?

For Example, If I do : ' YYYY/MM/DD HH:MM:SS', will this work (I'm 
guessing NOT), or do I always need to know the system's DateTime format?
