V4RB Windows bug error 524

V4RB v1.9.8 b1 and b2

If and only if I set the file properties of my .vdb file to Read-Only, 
I get error 524 when opening the db. When I turn off that property to 
make the file Read/Write, the error goes away.

I am trying to simulate running from CD.

Since 524 means the structure in the VDB does not match the classes 
defined in RB, this does not make sense (to me).

Is this a bug, and is there a workaround/solution?

Anyone else experience this?
