What version of vserver?

Latest Vstudio was improved to use MORE and MORE SQL commands.
Via different 
        SHOW XXXX

This is required to better work with remote vserver.
Instead of many small calls we get single call to remote server and result
back as cursor. 

May be you have vserver which do not understand newer SQL commands.

Also possible in the ini file set verboseLevel = 3
To see SQL command itself in the server log.
