Hmm - on my side i don't get this crash...
Does the database contain any tables? have you created the db with 
vStudio?

Maybe you can try the following:
After application start switch to list view - as you have said this 
should not give you a crash.
Then - still in list view - try to create or open a database....

Yes, of course! We will get at least the same funcionality like in the 
current VAPP - and more!
For example we will get the possibility to work with SQL and with 
scripts...
