Right, I don't think that diagnose is corrupting the database. 
Rather, I think it is now revealing corruption that occurs a *lot* 
more than we thought (because it doesn't cause a crash). I'm glad we 
have this function now, but I'm also a bit worried that my users will 
be anxious when they find that a critical database has to be repaired 
every week or two because of some corruption issue. I hope it is 
mostly due to one area (like varchar) so it can be isolated and fixed.
