No, I don't think that's possible. You will always get
the bitmap data from a bitmap member. But I'm not
sure what kind of data you'll get from an image object.

You should ask some Xtras developers on Xtras-L
or check the docs of the XDK, it should say something
about that since image objects have been added to
the XDK in version 8.5, I think.
